Domenico D. Carnevale “Don” age 84, ofLivingston, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 22, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Philomena Church, Livingston, on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey. Don was born and raised in East Orange, New Jersey, where he enjoyed spending time with the boys from the Third Ward. Don served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. He lived in Livingston, New Jersey, for more than 56 years and was employed at the U.S. Post Office in East Orange, New Jersey, for 35 years before retiring as a supervisor at the age of 56. Don also worked for decades at the West Essex YMCA in Livingston, New Jersey, and was a faithful and dedicated employee and member ofthe YMCA. Don always greeted everyone with a smile and friendly greeting. The YMCA became Don’s second home, and there he was often referred to as the “Mayor of the Y.” He was also a member ofthe Livingston UNICO and the Knights of Columbus. Don was predeceased by his beloved wife of 41 years, Rosemary Carnevale; his brother, Samuel Carnevale; his sister, Marion Carnevale; and his parents, Joseph and Victoria Bruno Carnevale. He is survived by his devoted children, Maria (Richard) Schenk, Christopher (Tammy) Carnevale, Carolyn (Tony) Battista and Amy (Jason) Taub; his loving grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Mark, Jacob, Emily, Michael, Jonathan, Jack and Christopher; and his dear siblings, Joseph Carnevale (Marie) and Claire Capobianco.
