Law Firm Makes Donation for Non-Profit’s “Personal Shopping for the Homeless” Program

This week, Jeff Friedman of Livingston, founder and director of Livingston Philanthropies, Inc. (LPI), has announced that a local law firm has made a donation to assist the Livingston-based charity’s “Personal Shopping for the Homeless” initiative. LPI, which prior to the pandemic collected coats, clothing, toiletries and other items for the homeless in Essex County, is currently focusing on “Personal Shopping for the Homeless,” encouraging donors to purchase new items for the homeless or offer monetary donations to enable the non-profit organization’s volunteers to do so. Mandelbaum Salsburg PC., a national law firm with headquarters in Roseland, recently gave the initiative a boost with a major contribution to LPI. Chief executive officer William Barrett said, “We are honored to support Livingston Philanthropies and applaud Jeff and his team for the help they provide to our neighbors in need. With our very own roots in Newark, it’s a pleasure to work with local charities that give back to the communities in which we live and work.” Brian Block is chairman of Mandelbaum Salsburgs’s Charity Committee. He has become quite familiar with LPI’s charitable initiatives through articles in the West Essex Tribune and was instrumental in arranging the donation. “We have also begun our collection drive for new coats, hats, diapers, etc. and will bring it all to you at the end of the month,” commented Block. Taryn Dowling, marketing manager at the law firm who handled the arrangements, also recognized LPI’s assistance to Essex County’s poorest communities; “Thanks so much for coming out today,” she said. “It’s wonderful knowing how helpful this money will be, and we hope to have lots of items for you at the end of the month.” Mandelbaum Salsburg’s contribution, which will be immediately utilized to provide for the “homeless, profoundly poor and disenfranchised,” in keeping with LPI’s mission, is “emblematic of how businesses, charitable organizations, service clubs, religious entities and individual families can make a difference right now,” said Friedman.  He continued, “Currently we are badly in need of items vital to everyday existence, including diapers, warm coats, winter accessories, baby formula (Enfamil only, please) jarred baby food and more, which can be dropped at LPI ‘World Headquarters’ (my garage) or shipped to me or our trusted distribution partners directly.” Friedman concluded, “It’s easy to shop for those who need absolutely everything one can imagine – and then some.
