Council Passes Ordinance Banning Vape Shops

Following the introduction of an amendment at last month’s meeting, the Livingston Township Council passed an ordinance prohibiting electronic cigarette or “vaping” shops from opening in town, though the vote was not a unanimous one.

The Council had not met for a regular or conference meeting since June 18, when the ordinance was first introduced. The ordinance amends uses to Article XI general zoning regulations, and it was passed by a three to one vote immediately following a final hearing on the ordinance at Monday’s meeting.
