Funeral Mass Offered For Elizabeth Mita

Elizabeth Mita of Livingston died Wednesday, October 28. Funeral arrangements were by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. Mrs. Mita grew up in Newark, daughter of Lawrence and Marie Russomanno and the sister of Grace Cocuzza, Lucille Pacchia, Jerry, the late Larry and Anthony Russomanno and the sister-in-law of Claire Russomanno, Cynthia Russomanno, and Stella Lafauci. She resided for most of her life in Livingston and Lavallette. She was a founding member of Livingston’s American Little League, and a long-time member of the Livingston Women’s Club, the Rosary Society, and St. Philomena’s Choir.
Mrs. Mita was the wife of the late Anthony F. Mita, and the mother of Anthony and his wife, Cindy; Marianne, and her husband, John; Rocco and his wife Wendy; Michael; and David. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

Funeral Services Held For Jack “Bobby” Bahto

Jack “Bobby” Bahto of Livingston died Saturday, October 24, at Care One of Livingston. He was 81 years old. The funeral was held at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston on Tuesday, October 27. A committal service followed at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover. Mr. Bahto was born in Irvington and was raised in Orange before moving to Spring Lake. He had lived in Livingston for the past 52 years. He was an employee of the United States Postal Service for 25 years, retiring in 1994. He was also a drummer with many bands. Surviving Mr. Bahto are his sister, Lois Esehak; his great niece, Alyssa David; and many cousins.

Hold Private Services For Helen R. Tahaney

Helen Ruth Tahaney died Saturday, October 24, at Care One of Livingston. She was 92 years old. A private committal service will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. Arrangements are by the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. Born in Springfield, Mrs. Tahaney was a lifelong resident of Livingston and had worked as a secretary at Sandoz Pharmaceutical Company in East Hanover. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Charles Tahaney, Sr.; her brothers, Jack and Edwin Falk; and her sister, Dorothy Riley. She is survived by her son, Charles, Jr., and his wife, Eileen; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family has noted that memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston First Aid Squad, 62 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039; or to the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 95 Old Short Hills Road, West Orange, NJ 07052.

Irene C. Weiss, 83 Dies in West Orange

Former Livingston resident Irene C. Weiss, 83, died Thursday, October 15, at the Daughters of Israel in West Orange. A graveside service was held on Sunday, October 18. Arrangements were made by Menorah Chapels at Millburn. Mrs. Weiss grew up in the Weequahic section of Newark, and attended the University of Wisconsin and New York University. She was the owner/manager of Plant Parenthood, a business that provided green plants for interior spaces, and volunteered at Overlook Medical Center and Morristown Medical Center. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ravin Libman and son-in-law, Jeffrey Libman, of Randolph; her daughter, Judith Ravin; and three grandchildren.

Funeral Service For Barry N. Rein

Barry N. Rein, 72, a resident of Livingston for 45 years, passed away on October 7. Services were held Sunday, October 11, at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel. Mr. Rein was born in Newark, and raised in Hillside. He was president of Barry N. Rein & Associates. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Francine (Amdur); two sons, Steven and Scott (Jayme), both of Livingston; a daughter, Brooke Bonder (David) of New York City; and one granddaughter. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Funeral Mass Friday For Daniel J. Echo, 89

Daniel J. Echo of Livingston died at the Summit Ridge Nursing Home in West Orange on Saturday, October 10. He was 89 years old. His family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston on Friday, October 16, beginning at 9 a.m. A funeral Mass will be follow at St. Philomena's Church in Livingston at 10:45 a.m. Mr. Echo will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, with an Air Force honor guard in commemoration of his service to his country during World War II. He retired as a marketing consultant for Litton Industries, having served as the regional market manager for the northeastern United States. The family has noted that those who wish to honor his memory may make contributions in his name to a charity of one's choice.
