Hold Private Services For Morris Updegrove

Morris Alan Updegrove of Livingston died Monday, July 21, at the age of 88. Services are private, under the direction of Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home Livingston Mr. Updegrove served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, also taking part in the Normandy Invasion on June 6, 1944. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine Smarz Updegrove; his daughter, Debra, and her husband, Theodore Melhorn; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has announced that memorial donations may be made to the Livingston First Aid Squad, 62 South Livingston Avenue Livingston, NJ 07039.

Services Held Mon. For Dr. Stulberger

Funeral services were held Monday, July 21, at the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston for Dr. Eugene Abraham Stulberger. Dr. Stulberger, a resident of Livingston and East Hampton, New York, died July 19. Born April 23, 1938 in New York City, he had a 40 year career as a physician in Livingston. Dr. Stulberger is survived by his wife of 48 years, Audrey Katz Stulberger; his children, Adam Stulberger and his wife, Lisa, of Short Hills, and Jennifer Feinberg of Livingston; his brother, Peter Stulberger of Chicago, Illinois; his sister, Peggy Stotter of New York City; and seven grandchildren.

Dorothy Naylor Dies in Holmdel

Former Livingston "first lady" Dorothy Naylor, 94, died Friday morning, July 18, at the Willows in Holmdel. Mrs. Naylor was privately cremated. Mrs. Naylor was born Dorothy Keiper on April 20, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. She lived in Livingston for 36 years, before moving to Seven Lakes, North Carolina, in 1985. In 2009, she settled in Holmdel. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Naylor, who served as mayor of Livingston in the 1960s. She is survived by her children, Gary D. Naylor and his wife, Mary, of Leland, North Carolina; and Lynn Davis and her husband, Lee, of Saint Cloud, Florida; along with four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Offer Funeral Mass For Ann Antonucci

A funeral Mass was offered on July 15 in St. Philomena Church, Livingston, for Ann (Michelin) Antonucci, who died July 10 at the age of 69. Born in Newark, Mrs. Antonucci lived most of her life in Livingston before moving to Rockaway with her daughter three years ago. She was a graduate of the Berkeley School for Business and worked in the billing department of Tri County Orthopedics in Morris Plains for many years. Predeceased by her husband, John Antonucci, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jeff Quinn; a son, John Antonucci; a sister, Barbara Campisi; and four grandchildren. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Committal Service For Mrs. Laurilliard

Emilia “Mildred” Laurilliard, 92, died on Monday, July 14. A committal service will be offered at the chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum in East Hanover, today, Thursday, July 17, at 11 a.m. Mrs. Laurilliard had met her late husband, George E. Laurilliard, while working for General Electric Corporation in Newark. They lived in Livingston before moving to East Hanover 30 years ago. She is survived by a daughter, Diane LoCascio and her husband Sebastian “Julie;” and two stepgrandchildren. Jean Byrne, 87, Succumbs to Cancer

Jean Byrne, 87, succumbed on July 9 to a long battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 15 at Saint Philomena's Church, Livingston. Born in West Orange, Mrs. Byrne lived most of her life in Livingston and Panther Valley before moving to Lakewood. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Joseph W. Byrne, she is survived by three daughters, Colleen Carrington, Bonnie Byrne and Robin O'Leary; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Private Services For Alan Zucker

Alan J. Zucker, formerly of Livingston, died at the age of 85 on July 9. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War. For more than 40 years, Mr. Zucker was an accountant. He is survived by two sons, William and Michael Zucker; a sister, Marilyn Zutz; and three grandchildren. Cremation was private.

Funeral Services For Agnes Hagon

Agnes McAteer Hagon died at the age of 93 on July 12 at the Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township. Funeral services were held July 15 in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. Born in Newark, Mrs. Hagon lived in Union and Livingston before moving to Raritan Township in 1988. She was retired from Newsweek, where she had been employed for many years. Mrs. Hagon is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert George Hagon; two daughters and their husbands, Laurel and Harvey Schrier of Monterey, California, and Kathleen and David Snyder of Galloway; a son and his wife, Robert Michael and Catherine Hagon of Somerset; and two granddaughters. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph's School for the Blind, 761 Summit Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07307.
