Frances S. Bagoon

Frances (Strauss) Bagoon passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Wednesday, September 20. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Minnie and Louis Strauss. She was married to the late Robert Bagoon from 1943 until his death in 1997. A longtime resident of Livingston, NJ, and, for the past ten years, of Bethlehem, PA, she and her husband were founding members of Temple Beth Shalom. A loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother, Frances is survived by her daughter, Geri Cohen and her husband, Leighton; son Larry and his wife, Lucy; and son Paul and his wife, Frances. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was predeceased by her brother, Jack. Services were held on Tuesday, September 19, at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Chapels in Livingston for Stanley Garfinkel. The Livingston resident was the husband of Sandie (neé Selman); the father of Alyssa and Clifford Greenberg, Jill and Mitchell Levy, and Jeffrey and Karen Garfinkel; and the grandfather of eight.

Shepard Fleet Dies In Boca Raton, Florida

Shepard Fleet, 92, died on September 11 in Boca Raton, Florida. He and his wife, the late Dorothy Diane Fleet (nee Hamburg) moved to Livingston in 1964, where they lived until moving to Coconut Creek, Florida, in 2006. Born August 24, 1925, in New York City, Mr. Fleet was graduated from Upsala College and worked in the retail appliance trade. A veteran of the U.S. Navy and Marines, he served as a medical corpsman in the Pacific during World War II. In addition to his wife, Shepard was predeceased by his sister, Edna Strauss, and his brother, Marvin Fleet. He is survived by his daughter, Cathi Fleet Robinson; his sons, Richard (Beth) and Julian (Nicole); six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. G. Dale Murray Dies

G. Dale Murray, a resident of Livingston for ten years, died at the age of 76 on Thursday, September 14. A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Murray is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan Murray; his three daughters, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Kimberly; his son, Dale, five grandchildren, and his brother, Marcus.

Funeral Service Held For Helen Rose Weber

Helen Rose Weber, a former longtime resident of Livingston, died on September 16 in Manchester, New Jersey. She was 84 years old. Mrs. Weber was predeceased by her husband, William; her daughter, Diane Simpson; and her sister, Betty Cleveland. She is survived by her sons, Steven (Jeanmarie); and Mark (Monika); four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marion Bybee, and her husband, Jim. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Funeral arrangements were by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston.

Funeral Services Held For Herbert J. Cannon

Former Livingston resident Herbert James Cannon, 87, died on September 6 at his home in Chatham. Funeral arrangements were made by Bradley Funeral Home in Chatham. Born in Orange, New Jersey, Mr. Cannon was the oldest of four boys and grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Livingston. He married his wife, Jean, in 1954, and moved to Chatham in 1958. Mr. Cannon served as the Chatham borough engineer for 30 years and was a lifelong member of the Chatham Borough Volunteer Fire Department on Engine Company Two. He was also a member of the Chatham Planning Board and served on the Passaic River Coalition and the Passaic Valley Ground Water Protection Committee. Mr. Cannon was predeceased by his wife, Jean A. Cannon, and his two brothers, Peter and John (Jack) Cannon. Surviving are his brother, Gerald Cannon of Point Pleasant; his five children, David, Nancy, James, Catherine, and Beth; and his nine grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

Celebration of Life For Martin Drucker

Martin Drucker, 81, of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, and Livingston, died on August 25. Born in Queens, New York, and raised in Orange, New Jersey, Mr. Drucker served twice in the U.S. Army. He retired from Nu Horizons Electronics in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marygrace Drucker (Freda); his two daughters, Karen (Jim Baka) and Sandra (Chris Wright); and three granddaughters. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, September 17. No additional information was available.

Rose (Tipaldi) John, formerly of Livingston, died on Tuesday, September 5, at Life Care Center of Acton, Massachusetts. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 9. Predeceased by her husband, Philip A. John, Mrs. John is survived by her son, Philip R. John and his wife, Miriam Friedman; and one granddaughter. She was the sister of the late Tessie Nocerino, Mary Kochan, Thomas Tipaldi, and James Tipaldi. Judith Orleans Wahler

Judith Orleans Wahler passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 3, a month shy of her 96th birthday. Born in Newark, Judy moved to Livingston in 1951 to raise her family. She and her husband, Karel, were founding members of Temple Emanu-El of West Essex in Livingston. She worked many and varied jobs, but was best known as the FUNDAY Puppeteer. After retiring, she volunteered teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) at the Livingston Public Library. Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Karel. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Richard) Solomon of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Jill (Thomas) Cunningham of Ticonderoga, New York; and her three sons, William Wahler of Chicago Illinois; Charles (Sally) Wahler of Flagstaff, Arizona; and James (Lisa) Wahler of Livingston.
