Marsha E. Cohen

Marsha E. Cohen, 72, a resident of Livingston, New Jersey since 1973, passed away at home on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Born in Durham, North Carolina, she also enjoyed her time at her homes in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Long Beach Island, New Jersey. She was co-owner with her husband of Valpak Marketing. Marsha was also a member of the Cedar Hill Country Club in Livingston and the Mirasol Country Club in Palm Beach. She was an avid golfer and traveler, having played 40 of the top 100 golf courses and visited over 50 countries with her husband, Jeff. Mrs. Cohen was the beloved wife of Jeffrey Cohen; loving mother of Jamie Kirschner (Eric) of Pine Brook, New Jersey; and Robyn Lozier (Michael) of Randolph, New Jersey; and devoted grandmother of Zach, Jesse, Lexi and Casey. George N. Overath

George N. Overath, 67, of Miffl in Park, Pennsylvania, formerly of Livingston, passed away on August 15, 2017 at 11:11 p.m. in his residence with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Sylvia S. (Seiselmyrer) Overath who passed away August 22, 1999. They shared ten years of marriage prior to her passing. Born in Orange, New Jersey, he was a son of the late George N. Overath, Jr. and Margaret C. (Marshall) Overath. George worked as a technician for the former AT&T and was the primary caregiver for his late wife. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Ellen Howard

Ellen Howard (nee Blakeslee), 69, of Toms River, formerly of Livingston, passed away August 19, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Ellen worked for Newsweek magazine for 35 years. She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Cobb, and her parents, Edna and Maurice “Jack” Blakeslee. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; her daughters, Tracy Haberman, her husband, Brian, and Kim McLane and her husband, Brian. Ellen also leaves behind two grandsons, and a soon to be born granddaughter; her brother, William; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral Mass Offered For Edward Donahue

Livingston resident Edward Joseph Donahue, 57, died Saturday, August 19, in Livingston. Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Donahue was raised in Union. He was a graduate of Union High School, where he was an All-State soccer player. He later attended the University of North Carolina-Wilmington on a soccer scholarship. Mr. Donahue was predeceased by his father, Edward Michael Donahue, and his stepfather, Robert Browne. He is survived by his mother, G. Patricia Browne; and his siblings, Patricia M. D’Agostini (Arthur), Karen E. Donahue, and William Browne (Paula). Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 22, at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. A funeral Mass was offered on Wednesday, August 23, at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston, with interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations in Mr. Donahue’s name be made to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, 2501 West COTA Drive, Bloomington, IN 47403.

Thomas Whitlock Klipper, 86, of Palm Beach Gardens FL, formerly of Morris Township, NJ, passed away on August 19, 2017. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and uncle, Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Brenda Garrett Klipper; his son, Kenneth (Maddy) of Bedford, MA; his daughters, Karen Diamond (Seth) of Oakland, NJ; Lucy Simkins (David) of Scarsdale, New York; Liz Goldstein (Andy) of Mendham, NJ; and Patricia (David) of San Francisco, CA; his sister, Mary Lee Singer of Islamorada, FL; his cousin, Helene Margulies of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and his beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey and Ali Klipper, Keith and Jason Diamond, and Haley and Noah Goldstein. Born in Richmond, VA, and raised in NJ, Tom served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant JG. He worked in Real Estate, Property Management and Mortgages until he happily retired at age 65.

Myriam Duchin

Myriam Duchin died on August 19, 2017, at home. She was a resident of Livingston for the past 63 years and, prior to that, lived in Irvington. She was predeceased by her loving husband Eugene, in 1994, and her two brothers, Samuel Goldman, and Mark Goldman. Mrs. Duchin is survived by her devoted daughters, Linda Tishler and Karin Haber. She was the cherished grandmother of Hillarie, Jennifer, Kimberly, Joshua, Danielle; and the great-grandmother of Daniella, Alexander, and Jonah. Mrs. Duchin was a member of Temple Beth Shalom, Livingston, for over 60 years. She was also a member of Hadassah for more than 60 years. Services were held on August 21, 2017 at the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel. Donations may be made to the Barnabas Health Hospice, 80 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052.

Service at St. Philomena For Crescentia Boutilette

Crescentia M. Boutilette of Livingston died Monday, August 21. She was 86 years old. Visitation was held yesterday, Wednesday, at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. A service celebrating her life will be held at St. Philomena Church in Livingston today, Thursday, August 24, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Ms. Boutilette was born in Bayonne. She served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. She was the past commander of the Disabled American Veterans of New Jersey, as well as the past commander of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter No. 1, Passaic. She was a past Golden Cat for the National Order of Alley Cats, and a past commander of the Passaic Veterans’ Alliance. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 161, the National Rifle Association, and AARP. In addition, she served on the Ladies Auxiliary for the Livingston Fire Department and the Civil Air Patrol. Ms.

Funeral Services Held For Robert A. Larsen

Robert A. Larsen of Bloomfield, formerly of Livingston, died Friday, August 18, at the age of 82. Funeral services were held at the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange on Wednesday, August 23. Interment took place at Rosedale Cemetery, Montclair. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. Born in Montclair, Mr. Larsen was raised in Newark. He lived in East Orange and Livingston before moving to Bloomfield several years ago. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a fireman with the East Orange Fire Department, where he was a member of the Firemen’s Relief Association, the Firemen’s Benevolent Association Local No. 23, and the BPOE Elks’ Livingston Lodge 1855. Mr. Larsen was the father of Ellen Rice and her husband, Richard; Robin Larsen and her companion, William Greulich; Leslie Larsen and her companion, Ron Groseibl; Kristina Larsen; and the late Thomas Larsen.

Richard M. Steinberg

Richard M. Steinberg, 81, of Livingston, died at home on Friday, August 18, 2017. Mr. Steinberg had lived in Livingston for the past 57 years and wintered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for the past six years. He attended Hillside High School and Bowling Green University in Ohio. The owner of Maximum Subrogation and Recovery, LLC in Livingston, he was also passionate about his art, his wines, and his grandchildren. As an artist, he was a member of the New Jersey Designer Craftsmen, making one-of-a-kind jewelry. In more recent years he has created gorgeous handcrafted pieces of furniture. As a wine enthusiast and collector, he was a member of Chainie des Rotisseurs, Chevaliers du Tastevin, and the Essex County Food and Wine Association. Richard was the devoted husband of Lois; the loving father of Russel Allen Steinberg (Wendy) and Dina del Amo (Martin Warman); the devoted grandfather of Lauryn, Matthew, and Natasha; and the cherished brother of Paul Steinberg (Sandy).

Mass Offered Monday For Dorothy F. Knapp

Dorothy F. Knapp of Livingston died Wednesday, August 9, at the age of 97. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 20, at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. A Funeral Mass was offered at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston, on Monday, August 21, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Born and raised in Orange, Ms. Knapp lived in Livingston for more than 55 years. She worked at Edison’s in the cost accounting department as a comptometer operator, and later at Ciba-Geigy as a cost accountant. She was an active member of St. Philomena’s Church. Ms. Knapp, who lived most of her life with her sisters, Marie and Jane, was one of seven children. She is survived by her sister, Eileen Basil, and her long-time companion, Bill Radom.
