Funeral Mass Friday For Joseph Musumeci

Joseph Musumeci of Livingston died Monday, August 7, at the age of 92. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston today, Thursday, August 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered at St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church, Livingston, on Friday, August 11, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Mr. Musumeci was born in Newark. He served in the U.S. Navy in both World War II and the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine, and two of his children, Rosanne Fanning and Paul Musumeci. Surviving Mr. Musumeci are his children, Joseph Musumeci; Luann Melillo and her husband, Stephen; and Robert Musumeci and his wife, Fabiola; his sister, Rosemarie Balfour; and nine grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Mr. Musumeci’s name be made Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.

Jane Y. Hecht of Whippany, formerly of Livingston, passed away on July 26, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with lymphoma. She was 67 years old. Jane was born in New York, New York in 1950 and lived in Ohio and Massachusetts before attending Dobbs Ferry High School in Dobbs Ferry, New York. She was graduated from New York University and subsequently moved to New Jersey. She was actively involved in the Livingston community, serving most recently as Executive Director of the Livingston Municipal Alliance Committee (LMAC). She also served as a member of Temple Beth Shalom’s Board of Trustees and in the Livingston Public Schools, where she was an officer of the PTA and PT Council. She was most recently employed with Jewish Vocational Services of MetroWest. Jane is survived by her two sons, Daniel (Jennifer) and Michael; two grandchildren, Allison and Jonah; her sister, Beth Nesic (Dusan); her brother, Dr.

Allan Feid Sr., 87, of East Hanover, formerly of Livingston, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Quinn- Hopping Funeral Home, at 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, N.J., on Thursday, August 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service celebrating Allan’s life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 4, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, at 77 Deforest Ave., East Hanover. Allan was born in Orange to August and Mae Feid. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he started Allan Feid Plumbing in 1955 in Livingston, and has since successfully passed the business on to his two sons, Allan Feid Jr. and Bob Feid.

Graveside Services Held For Rosalind Kleinwaks

Rosalind (nee Teitelbaum) Kleinwaks, 91, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Livingston, died at home on July 27. Graveside services were held on Sunday, July 30, at 1 p.m. at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Kleinwaks was graduated from Weequahic High School. She attended the University of South Carolina, then was graduated from Newark State Teachers’ College (now Kean University) with a teaching degree from. After marrying Eugene Kleinwaks, the two lived in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for 12 years before moving to Livingston in 1962, where they raised their family. Mrs. Kleinwaks was predeceased by her husband in 2015 after 67 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Lorrie Hertzberg, Jeffrey (Diana) Kleinwaks, and Randy (Tracey) Kleinwaks; her sister, Elaine Schlesinger; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Offer Mass August 8 For William Theel, 85

Former Livingston resident William Theel, 85, died suddenly on Sunday, July 30, at his home in Macungie, Pennsylvania. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 8, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Mass will be preceded by a calling hour from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown, Born in Passaic, Mr. Theel lived in Pequannock before moving to Livingston. He was a 1950 graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a field engineer for IBM for 32 years until retiring. After retiring in 1986, he and his wife moved to Reeders, Pennsylvania, and then to the Wild Cherry Knoll Community in Macungie. Mr. Theel was predeceased by Barbara, his wife of 58 years; and his sister, Gertrude.

Graveside Services Held For Malcolm Scharf

Malcolm Scharf of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Livingston, died July 28, at the age of 94. A World War II veteran, Mr. Scharf served in U.S. Army Signal Corps and earned a Purple Heart for his contributions. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and ran a kitchen manufacturing business in Springfield for 45 years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rhoda, and his sons, Robert and Steven. He was predeceased by his daughter, Carol. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family has suggested that memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Hospice of Palm Beach and Broward County Foundation.

Funeral Services Held For Donald R. McKay

Donald R. McKay, 74, of Roseland, formerly of Livingston, died Friday, July 28. Funeral arrangements were by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. Mr. McKay was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and was graduated from Livingston High School in 1961 as president of his class. He excelled at football and track and was named all-state in football. He continued his athletic and academic successes at Princeton University, from which he was graduated in 1965. He played starting tailback for Princeton's only undefeated football team and was selected for the All-Ivy Team. In 1978, he was the second inductee into the Livingston Athletic Hall of Fame. Professionally, Mr. McKay had a long career in wealth management, and recently retired from UBS as senior vice president, executive wealth management.

Rosita Linkow

Rosita Linkow, 84, passed away on June 17, 2017. She was born and raised in the Bronx and lived in Manhattan for many years. She attended Barnard School for Girls and Finch Jr. College. She worked with her then-husband, Dr. Leonard I. Linkow, in placing some of the first dental implants and later was a clothing designer in New York City. She worked for Bergdorf Goodman until her retirement. Rosita was the loving mother of Sheree Mandelbaum (Nathan) and the late Robin C. Foxx, cherished grandmother of Jennifer Mandelbaum, Michael Foxx, Steven Foxx, and Stephanie Fieldston (Todd), great-grandmother of Alexa Fieldston, sister of the late Marvin Niego and the late Edward Victor Niego, sister-in-law of Marsha Seinfeld (Dr. Barry), and aunt of Jason Seinfeld and Tara Saltzman. Rosita will be remembered for her wisdom, strength, great sense of humor, zest for life, and love for family. She will be greatly missed.

Angelina Candeliere of Livingston, formerly of West Orange, died on Sunday, July 23, at the age of 96. After raising her children, she worked as a bookkeeper for more than 20 years with Rosenberg and Associates in Roseland.

Memorial Mass For Father Burns

A 40 day Memorial Mass will be offered for the Rev. Msgr. G. Thomas Burns at St. Raphael Church in Livingston on Tuesday, August 1, at 7 p.m. The community is invited to attend. Father Burns was the pastor of St. Raphael Church for more than 20 years and had retired 16 years ago. He marked the 60th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood on May 20, and the parish held a reunion and celebration in his honor. Father Burns died on June 23, shortly after this celebration. The August 1 memorial service which will be officiated by the Rev. Jose Erlito Ebron (also known as Father Lito), the current pastor of St. Raphael Parish.
