Barbara Polancer Feldstein, 87, died in her West Orange home on Monday, May 13.

Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, she graduated from Saint Margaret’s School and then from Wellesley College in 1953. She married Joel Feldstein in 1957 and moved to Livingston, where they raised their family and lived for almost 50 years.

She began her career as a medical researcher at Rockefeller University in New York and then earned a master’s degree in teaching from Kean University. She taught biology and biochemistry at Columbia High School in Maplewood for 20 years.

Mrs. Feldstein was a lifetime member of the National Council of Jewish Women, where she served as president of the Livingston Chapter. She also helped to found, and served as president of the Business and Professional Women’s Division of NCJW in Essex County.

She was an active member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun for more than 50 years.

Renee Lopomo of Livingston died Thursday, May 2. She was 94 years old. Visitation took place Monday, May 6, at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. A funeral Mass was offered Tuesday, May 7, at St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church. A committal service followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Mrs. Lopomo was born in Newark and lived there until 1962, when she moved to Livingston. She was a parishioner of St. Philomena Church, and volunteered at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. She also worked for Sunlight Life as a secretary, and was a judge for the Essex County Board of Elections polling centers.

Mrs. Lopomo was predeceased by her husband, Rocco, and her brother, Benjamin Sciarrillo and his wife, Geraldine. She is survived by her children, Patricia Biello, and Rocco Lopomo, Jr.; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gloria Ann Burke, 90, of Tinton Falls, New Jersey, formerly of Livingston, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Philomena Church, 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, New Jersey on Friday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Adolph and Mary Ellen Grube, Gloria was baptized at St. Aedan’s Church in Jersey City and attended St. Dominic Academy. She was a parishioner at St. Philomena Church for over 58 years, and was an active member of the Rosary Altar Society. She worked at AmericanBanker,apublicationfor the banking industry, in Manhattan as a Senior Manager.

Rose Liebman of West Orange, formerly of Livingston, died Sunday, April 21, at the age of 79.

A chapel service took place on Wednesday, April 24 at Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union. Interment followed at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton.

Mrs. Liebman was born in Newark and resided in Irvington, Roselle Park, Hazelton, Pennsylvania, and in Livingston for 25 years, before moving to West Orange.

She attended Irvington High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University. A homemaker, she was a member of Hadassah and the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Auxiliary, for which she volunteered for over 30 years.

Mrs. Liebman is survived by her husband of 58 years, Norman; her daughters, Gail Meadow and her husband, Craig, and Stacey Smith and her husband, Richard; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.

Barbara A. Schott of Livingston died Monday, April 15. She was 85 years old.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27, at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, followed by a chapel service there. Interment took place at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Mrs. Schott was born and raised in Jersey City, and lived there before moving to Livingston to live with her sister and husband. She worked as a waitress in Jersey City for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Helmut Schott; her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and William Woodin, and her brothers-in-law, Joseph Hoffman and Louis Gurry.

She is survived by her sistersin-law, Adeline Hoffman and Betty Gurry, and her nieces, Donna Jackson (Roy), Janice Hoffman (Dean), Carol Filak (Michael), and Laura Buzzard, and her nephew, Robert Gurry (Holly).

Amy S. Feeney, 52, of Basking Ridge, formerly of Livingston, died Wednesday, April 24. Visitation was held Sunday, April 28, at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, with a celebration of her life held there on Monday, April 29. Cremation was private.

Ms. Feeney was born in Orange, to the late Vincent and Grace Feeney, and attended Livingston High School.

She was the sister of Michael Feeney (Charlotte), Janice Salomone (late Robert), Kenneth Feeney (Susan), and Barbara Jaeger (Michael). She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in her name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

George C. Andreasen Sr. of Livingston, and Pittsfield, Massachusetts, died Thursday, April 18.

AMemorial Gathering will be held at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, NJ, on Sunday, May 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:30 p.m.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Andreasen resided in Livingston for 55 years. He was a graduate of University of Nebraska, where he received a degree in electrical engineering. Following a 39 year career with Westinghouse Electric (N.A. Phillips Lighting), he retired in 1991 and became a member of the Livingston Old Guard.

Mr. Andreasen was predeceased by his wife, Pauline V. Andreasen, and his brothers, Harry and Sonny Andreasen. He is survived by his children, Chris (Pam), David (Laura), Carl (Michelle) Andreasen, and Dorothy (Jim) Remler; and 12 grandchildren.

Kathleen M. Drew, 95, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, formerly of Livingston, died Friday, April 19.

Born August 20, 1923, in Newark, she was the wife of the late Harold (Don) Drew.

Mrs. Drew is survived by her three children and their spouses, Donald Drew and his wife, Mary Jane of Westbrook, Connecticut; Joseph Drew and his wife, Susan of Rockaway; Kathleen Drew of Livingston; five grandchildren; and her niece, Mary Macchi, who cared for her in her later years. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harry Towle, Donald Towle, Charlie Towle,TomTowle, JosephTowle, and her sister, Jo Macchi.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 26, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arthur Tevanian of Livingston died Monday, April 15, following a period of declining health. He was 92.

Visitation and the funeral service were held Friday, April 19, at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. The funeral service took place at the funeral home during the visitation at 5:30 p.m. There will be a private cremation with the interment of cremated remains in Portland, Maine, at a later date.

Mr. Tevanian was born on December 12, 1926, in Portland, Maine. He left high school to enlist in the Navy during World War II, later returning to earn his diploma from Portland High School. He earned a degree in business from the University of Maine, where he was in the Army ROTC. He then served in the Korean War, during which he was awarded a Bronze Star for valor.

Joan Morrison Goldsmith of Livingston, died April 16 of pneumonia. She was 88 years old.

Mrs. Goldsmith was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1930 and was raised in both Buffalo and in Birmingham, Alabama.

She was a professional artist for most of her adult life. She trained at the Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia, the Art Students’ League of New York, and the New School for Social Research. Early in her career, she worked as a shoe designer in New York City.
