SOFTBALL WINS THREE: Livingston High School’s softball team defeated Montclair, 11-1, on Monday, April 24, and lost to Cedar Grove, 13-1, on Wednesday, April 26, both on the Oval. They defeated Paramus Catholic, 11-1, on Tuesday, April 25 and Glen Ridge, 4-0, on Thursday, April 27, both away games. According to sports photographer Don Schwartz, Montclair game highlights included Caitlyn Mullen’s three hits, four RBIs and nine strikeouts. Lancer Allie Nankivell scored three runs. BOYS’ LACROSSE SENIOR NIGHT: The boys’ lacrosse team defeated Phillipsburg, 15-4, on the road on Monday, April 17. The Lancers defeated Cranford, 12-4, on Thursday, April 20, on senior night. The seniors were introduced with their parents, presented a rose and photographed. The Lancers were defeated by Columbia, 10-6, on Saturday, April 22. Tennis Team Plays County Tournaments

Livingston’s boys’ varsity tennis team defeated Caldwell, 5-0, in a regular season match on Tuesday, April 11. This was the varsity debut of Dylan Tovitz, Nick Alvais, Alan Hu, and Eshan Shah, who won the doubles in straight sets.

Montclair Kimberley defeated Livingston, 3-2, on Friday, April 14, by sweeping the singles versus Lancers Dhruv Anantaraman, Arjun Bansal, and Jared Melamed. Jake Hershkin and Atiksh Kotikalapudi won first doubles, 5-7,6-2,7-6 (108). HoldenBaris andJacob Goldstein also won third set tiebreak matches at second doubles, 4-6, 7-5, 10-7.

Livingston lost to Ridge 3-2, but won both doubles during the Bryan Bennett Memorial Tournament on Saturday, April 15. They also defeated Holmdel, 4-1, in the consolation match. At the Essex County Tournament on Tuesday, April 18, the Lancers defeated Verona, 5-0, during the first round before losing to fourth-seed Montclair, 4-1.

Track and Field Opens Season, Sets Three School Records
Track and Field Opens Season, Sets Three School Records

The Livingston High School boys ’ track andfield team opened its spring season at home on Wednesday, April 5, in a double dual meet against East Orange Campus High School and Montclair High School.

The Lancers won both matchups on the track and in the field, with a score of95-26 against the Jaguars of East Orange. The Lancers also won against the Mounties of Montclair, 64-63.

The team was up against the Cougars of Columbia High School on Monday, April 10. With both teams missing athletes due to the seasonal break, the Lancers were able to beat the Cougars, 95-36.

The LHS boys traveled to Madison on Saturday, April 15, for the annual Dodgertown Relays.

Lancer Softball Team Records First Victories of the Season
Lancer Softball Team Records First Victories of the Season

The varsity softball team opened its season against Nutley last Monday, April 3. The Lancers defeated Nutley, 11-1, in .ve innings for its .rst victory of the season, and went on to defeat Montclair, as well.

Junior So.a Mount, a Villanova softball 2025 commit, was dominant the entire game in the circle, striking out 16, allowing only two hits, and walking none. Junior catcher Heather Downey, led the attack with three hits and an RBI. Senior Caitlin Mullen, who will play at Stetson University in Florida next year, hit an RBI triple in the .rst inning, then launched her .rst homer of the season to right center. It was a two-run blast to bring the early score to 7-0. Sophomore Allie Nankivell reached base safely three times, scoring three runs and stealing two bases, .nishing 2 for 3 on the day.

The Lancers traveled to Montclair on Saturday morning for their second SEC American Division game of the year. Livingston defeated Montclair, 8-0.
