Volleyball Team Wins County Title

The Livingston High School girls' volleyball team won the Essex County Tournament on Saturday against Montclair Kimberley Academy at Bloomfield High School. The Lancers showed that they were not to be denied this title as they came from a first game loss, 18-25, to the Lions. Before the start of the second game the girls vowed not to lose. After being down 12-17 in the second game, the Lancers began their exciting come-from-behind finish, pulling ahead to take game two by a 25-22 score.

THE LHS GIRLS' SOCCER PROGRAM honored its seniors prior to the night game against Scotch Plains. Each Senior was presented with a fl oral bouquet, name-number banner, a thank you letter from a teammate and a walk through the underclassmen lineup to be greeted by coach Paul Raiz.

Lancer Boys Defeat Seton Hall Prep School For First Essex County Soccer Title Since 1995

The Livingston Lancers boys' soccer team on Saturday night defeated Seton Hall Prep, 1-0, in the Essex County Tournament Championship game for its fi rst ECT Championship since 1995. Livingston, the fi fth seed, got to the finals by defeating East Orange, 1-0, in the fi rst round on a goal by Jack Wasserman. In the quarterfi nal round, Livingston faced West Orange, which was the fourth seed. The Mountaineers had defeated the Lancers, 1-0, earlier in the year with a goal with just under three minutes to go in that game.

Lady Lancers Raise Funds at ‘Play for Cure’

The Lady Lancers field hockey program was host to Westfield High School on Tuesday, October 21, as they played in their annual Play for the Cure game. The varsity and junior varsity teams dedicated the game to raising money for breast cancer research and stressing the importance of early detection. With a donation from the Westfield Bombers field hockey program, proceeds from the Lancer bake sale, and fan donations, the teams raised close to $600 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Girls' Volleyball Team Has SEC Title; Advances to County & State Tournaments

The Livingston High School girls' varsity volleyball team concluded its regular season with an outstanding record of 18-3 and an American Divisional Super Essex Conference (SEC) title. Now the Lancers enter the 2014  
postseason with the Essex County Tournament and the State Tournament.

Lady Lancers Defeat Columbia; Fall to Montclair

The Livingston High School girls' tennis team completed its season, losing to Montclair, 3-2, before defeating Columbia, 3-2, both matches played at home.
Montclair 3, Livingston 2: Montclair won the three singles matches while Livingston won the doubles matches. In singles, Montclair's Alexandra Rodriguez, Emma Wallace, and Jessica Roy defeated Jacqueline Gelman, Cathy Nie, and Pujan Neopane.

Volleyball Team Defeats Three Opponents; Team’s Winning Streak Stretches to 17-0

The girls' volleyball team defeated three SEC opponents this past week to improve its record to 17-0. Nutley, Mt. St. Dominic and Montclair Kimberly Academy have become the latest to fall to the Lady Lancers. Not only did the varsity defeat Mt. St. Dominic, 25-19, 25-14, in two games at home, but the Pink Event held at the same time raised more than $1,300 for the Susan G. Komen/North Jersey Affiliate.

Lancer Boys' Cross Country Team Records Fast Times in Conference Championships

The American Division High School Championship Cross Country race was held Tuesday, October 7, in Branch Brook Park in Newark, with the Livingston High School boys' cross country team competing. The boys of Livingston turned in their best race of the season, recording the team's fastest team average (18:09) for the year.
