Play For the Pink

The Livingston Lancer Volleyball program will host its annual "Play for the Pink" tournament on Thursday, October 8, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the Livingston High School Fitness and Wellness Center. The tournament will benefit the Avon 39 Walk to End Breast Cancer.

Tennis Team Plays Verona, Millburn, Westfield

The Livingston High School girls' varsity tennis team lost to Verona, Millburn, and Westfi eld to drop its win-loss record to 5-7. The Lancers were unable to overcome the absence of several players, but competed on a very high level.

Dhurandhar Places At Golf Competition

Eleven year old Mt. Pleasant Middle School student, Srishti Dhurandhar, participated in this year's Drive Chip and Putt 2016 competition. The young budding golfer reached the New England regional level after qualifying at the local and sub-regional qualifying events. The regional qualifiers for the New England Region were held at the The Country Club in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Participants hailed from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Blues Street Hockey Team Wins Championship

Girls' Tennis Team Wins Two, Loses Two

The Livingston girls' tennis team opened its 2015 season by winning two of four matches. Livingston defeated Glen Ridge before losing to state powers Newark Academy and J.P. Stevens. The Lancers then defeated Morristown. In the match against Glen Ridge, senior first singles player and cocaptain Elaine Vernoff scored a 6-4, 6-0 victory, while freshman second singles player Nicole Bazhenov won her match 6-3, 6-2. Sophomore Pujan Neopane dropped a 7-5, 7-5 decision at third singles.

Dodgers Open Play-Offs With Shut-Out Victory

The Livingston Dodgers of the U.S. Over Thirty Baseball League, Mid-Week Division, opened their quest for the play-off championship with a 9-0 shut-out win over the Morris Brewers in Parsippany. Dodger ace Fred Pagan took the mound and fired off a masterful six-hit performance. He struck out five and walked one.

Summer Street Hockey League

Livingston players and coaches dominated the winning team in the West Orange Summer Street Hockey League, Rookie Division, K-2. Coaches Eric Ross, Scott Ritch and Dave Post are shown with players Adam Finkelstein, Brody Teitelbaum, Ari Munk, Brandon Reitman, Zachary Ventola, Will Atkinson, Dean Post, Ryan Ross and Jake Ritch. Player Jack Steinberg is not shown. Ari Munk is from West Orange. The League, open to children who live in nearby towns, ran from July to mid-August, and games were played at O'Connor Park in West Orange.
