The Livingston High School boys’ track and field team got its season off to a strong start on Thursday, April 5, defeating Super Essex Conference American Division foe, Columbia High School, by a score of 72-59.

“Due to the weather conditions the last few weeks, most of the throws could not be contested down in the ‘pit’ area, which is natural grass and dirt,” said coach Dave Czeizinger. “The infield turf had to be marked off and the javelin would be contested there first before any other events.” The trio of Joe Cullen (134’), John Rosero (128’) and Nick Boffa (124’) got the boys’ team off to a great start, going one, two and three and besting Columbia, 9-0, in the event to start the scoring for the Lancers. Jacob Werner and Daniel Horn also threw for LHS.
