Dear Editor: A Livingston resident called me this week to report how he was scammed by someone pretending to be from Microsoft; texting him and stating his computer was hacked, loaded with malware and needed to be repaired.All that was required was granting entry to his computer and a few minutes to correct it to avoid any contamination.

Last year, I had a “Little Free Library” installed near the side door of the Tribune office. Inspired by a feature story in our paper, I purchased the kit to make the library, and a couple of lovely young men in town built and installed it for me. They even included a couple of books to get us started. My staff and I brought in books from home that we were done with, and stuffed the library full.

My twin boys turned three last month, which is just mind-boggling to consider. It still feels like yesterday that they were born, in May of 2020, which was certainly an interesting time to become a first-time father of two to say the least.

Boys’ Varsity Tennis Team Defeats Morristown, Loses Against Montclair
The Livingston High School boys’ varsity tennis team defeated Morristown in the North Jersey Tennis Sectional Quarterfinals on Tuesday, May 30, and then lost to Montclair in the North Jersey Semifinals on Thursday, June 1.

CELEBRATING PRIDE IN LIVINGSTON
CELEBRATING PRIDE IN LIVINGSTON: Shiv’s Third Eye sponsored a picnic on Sunday, June 4, at the Oval in honor of Pride Month. Beautiful weather drew large crowds to take part in the event, which included live music, games, food, and arts and crafts - including a children’s project to paint rocks with a Pride theme. Board Delays Vote on Mt. Pleasant Ave. Housing Complex
The Livingston Planning Board, at its Tuesday, June 6 meeting, postponed a vote on Mount Pleasant Partners, LLC’s application for the construction of 254 multi-family residential units at 389-405 East Mt. Pleasant Avenue to June 20. The complex will be developed in three buildings, along with a clubhouse and related site improvements.

Livingston’s affordable housing compliance hearing with the state, scheduled for May 31 after being pushed back several previous times, was again adjourned. It is now scheduled for August 17.
