Boys’ Track Team Places Second At Essex County Championships
The Livingston High School boys’ track and field team placed second at the Essex County Championships behind Seton Hall Prep on Thursday and Friday, May 18 and 19, at Newark Schools Stadium. The boys competed against 36 other teams, and amassed 59 points, scoring in the sprints, hurdles, distance, throws, and jumps.

GOLFTEAM DEFEATS MILLBURN: The LHS boys’ golf team defeated Millburn, 153-158, at the Canoe Brook Country Club on Wednesday, May 10. The Lancers shot their lowest score of the season, led by Ridhit Beri’s 36 and Ryan Zales’ 37. Livingston next defeated Montclair Kimberley Academy, 158-213, on Thursday, May 11, at Cedar Hill. Jared Zornitzer Runs 50 Mile Marathon; Now Training for Upcoming 100 Mile Race
Jared Zornitzer, a 2020 graduate of Livingston High School and currently a senior studying mechanical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic University, successfully ran a 50 mile “Ultra Marathon.” The race, which nearly doubles the typical 26.2 mile marathon distance, took place in New Paltz, New York, across rigorous terrain in the Shawangunk Mountains. He completed the grueling race in ten hours and 21 minutes, placing 62nd out of 225 other participants.

A few weeks ago, I left on a scheduled two week vacation to Europe, leaving the Tribune in the trusted hands of my co-workers. This is nothing new – we have a small staff, and so everyone is cross-trained to do various jobs, covering for those who take time off.
