Aras Zayan Naveed is Named the Winner Of Tribune’s 65th Annual First Baby Contest
Aras Zayan Naveed, reported at press time to be Livingston’s first baby of 2023, has been named the winner of the annual First Baby Contest. The little boy was born Monday, January 2, at 10:52 a.m. at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center to Aaiza Aame and her husband, Naveed Iqbal. He weighed sevenpounds, nine ounces, andjoins a brother, Ay din Aamer Naveed, who is almost two.

LHS Ice Hockey Team Currently 4-2-1
The Livingston High School ice hockey team began this season coming off the most successful year in the team’s history. The 2022 Lancers finished 22-4-3. They were Mclnnis Conference champions; the state champion runners up in the Public A division; posted 11 shut-outs; and played 15 games against the state’s top 20 teams. The Lancers finished the season ranked 15th in the state and first overall in the NJYHLL (New Jersey Youth Hockey League) rankings.

Vieira Named Mayor, Bagolie Sworn In At Township Reorganization Meeting
For the first time since January of 2020, pomp and circumstance returned to the Livingston Senior/ Community Center for the annual Township Council reorganization meeting. It was standing room only in the building, as several Council members were sworn in, a new mayor was named, and dozens of residents were appointed to township committees.
