Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Burke graduated from Loyola University. He was the co-founder of Essextec, formerly the Essex Technology Group.

Mr. Burke was the husband of Sharon Beltzer Burke for 45 years; father of Adam Burke (Kailan) and JasonBurke (Elena); and grandfather of four.
