Never Forget

This Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the fall of the World Trade Center, the crash of Flight 93, and the attack on the Pentagon. Much has changed in the two decades since that terrible day, but in Livingston, each and every year, we still take time to honor the seven Livingston residents we lost.

Luke A. Dudek. Jeffrey Brian Gardner. Donald Thomas Jones II. Ming-Hao Liu. Joseph P. McDonald. John M. Pocher. Kenneth Albert Zelman.

They became part of a nationwide tragedy that forever altered the face of America. Our country’s confidence in the security of its citizens and its institutions was shaken to its core. In the years that followed, towns across the nation held ceremonies to honor the more than 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks, including our own service in Livingston, organized each year by Bunnie Ratner, chairperson of the 9/11 garden at the Oval and the annual Ceremony of Remembrance.

It is operated by the Unnati Reform Program and sponsored by ANTRIX-ISRO, an Indian government-owned company that operates under the Department of Space.

Nidhi, a senior at Livingston High School, and Raghav, a junior, volunteered in the 52nd “batch” of the program, which has been operating since 2013.

Previously trained inmates lead the program, acting as mentors and counselors to the new inmates. “Most participants experience an improvement in their self-image, positivity and confidence,” said Nidhi. “One error of judgment or ac

As a result of the medical episode, the man veered between roadways and lawns on Falcon Road, West Oakwood Avenue, and Brookside Place, before crashing into a tree near Canoe Brook on the lawn of a West Oakwood Avenue home.

The meeting was held on Zoom and may be viewed on the town’s Facebook page, LivingstonTownshipNJ.

An application by Joseph and Stacy Moore and Todd Weinberger regarding a riparian zone on the property at 354 Beaufort Avenue was adjourned to the September 28 meeting.

The proposed deck, 16 feet by 20 feet, will be the same size as the patio beneath it. The application was granted based on the shallowness of the property.
