The Livingston Township Council honored Livingston veterans and commemmorated the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II at its meeting on Monday, November 9. The veterans led the Pledge of Allegiance and were recognized by name during the meeting.

Anthony Rosamilia, president of the Livingston Education Association (LEA), addressed the Board of Education at its November 9 meeting about the superintendent search, PARCC testing and the state's two percent spending cap. Metropolitan Opera Trumpet Soloist Featured at LSO Opening Concert

Under the new leadership of maestro Anthony La Gruth, the Livingston Symphony Orchestra (LSO) will perform its season opening concert this Saturday, November 7, at 7:30 p.m., in the Livingston High School auditorium. For the third time in less than a year, LSO audiences will experience a Metropolitan Opera artist as featured soloist when trumpeter Raymond Riccomini performs Handel’s Trumpet Concerto in D Major.

Konner & Chirls Returned to School Board; Livingston Supports Democrats for Assembly

In the only local contest in the general election on Tuesday, November 3, incumbents Ronnie Konner and Pam Chirls were re-elected to the Livingston Board of Education. In addition, Livingston voters, following a countywide trend, supported Democrats John McKeon and Mila Jasey in the State Assembly race for the 27th District; Democrat Christopher Durkin for Essex County Clerk; and Democrat Armando Fontoura for Essex County Sheriff. This election saw Democrats earning their largest majority in the State Assembly in 36 years, the daily press reported.

Livingston police officers, firefighters and first aid volunteers went to the intersection of West Mt. Pleasant Avenue and South Ashby Avenue on Tuesday, November 3, where a Honda Odyssey had rolled over as a result of a collision with an SUV.
