Mass Held Tomorrow For Robert Failla

RobertN. Failla of Jupiter, Florida, and formerly of Short Hills and Livingston, New Jersey, died on Friday, June 30.

BominNewark, Mr. Failla was the son of the late Anthony and Marian Failla Mollica, and step-son ofthe late Eugene T. Mollica. He was married to his wife, Ann C. Failla, for over 61 years.

Failla was a graduate ofColumbia High School, Maplewood and Purdue University, Lafayette, Indiana.

He was the owner and president of New Jersey Gear and Manufacturing in Hillside, and later vice president of Aero Gear Corporation. He also owned and operated the metal fabrication company, Duro Manufacturing, Inc., Union.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Marita Wolff and her husband Patrick, and Robert A.

Failla and his wife Kerry; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Geraldine Comerci and Shirley Albanese.

The family will be receiving friends at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills tomorrow, Friday, July 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests making donations in memory of Mr. Failla to Trust Bridge Hospice ofthe Palm Beaches, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407 or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hyland Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.

In May, 1816, “The Dam for the Force Saw Mill,” used to cut lumber, was shut down and never used again after Thomas Force’s 18 month old grandson, John Anderson, fell through the mill and died. Stone foundations of the dam can still be seen on either side of Canoe Brook.
