Suzanne Waltman Newmann

Suzanne Waltman Newmann, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, of Livingston and West Orange, NJ, died on December 30, 2023.

Bom in Philadelphia, PA, to William Waltman and Bertha Brenner Newmann, Sue graduated from Overbrook High School in 1952 and received a B.A. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 1956. She married her college sweetheart, Thomas H. Newmann (who passed in 2010), after 54 years together. Sue had two great passions: the University of Pennsylvania, which awarded her the University Alumni Award of Merit; and Scottish Terriers (there were always two or three running around the house). A teacher at Temple B’nai Jeshurun, Sue also helped high school students prepare for the college admissions process.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Ellen Newmann; son-inlaw, John R. Enea; her son, William W. Newmann; her daughter-in-law, Judyth Twigg, and granddaughter, Jeri Twigg Newmann.
