Private Services for Mrs. Wagenberg

Ellen Wagenberg died on March 5. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Barry Wagenberg. Additional survivors include her son, Lawrence Wagenberg, along with his wife and their sons; her daughter, Melissa Lasher, along with her husband and their children; and her sister.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 25, 1948. After living in Jamaica, Queens, above her dad’s pharmacy and soda shop, her family settled in New Hyde Park, New York. Later, Mrs. Wagenberg attended Adelphi University, where she met her future husband, Barry.

Upon her college graduation, she and her husband moved to Philadelphia, where she taught elementary school. They then moved to the Riverdale section of the Bronx. They moved again to Robbins Air Force Base, in Georgia, when Mr. Wagenberg was stationed there in the US Air Force. The family eventually settled in Livingston. As her children were growing up, Mrs. Wagenberg earned her MBA and later worked as an accountant.
