Dr. Norma S. Miller

It is with great sadness that the Miller family announces the passing of Dr. Norma “Nora” S. Miller. Dr. Miller passed away peacefully on the evening of March 20th, 2024 surrounded by her family and friends.

Dr. Miller was born in Bronx, NY. She attended William Howard Taft High School, graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a Bachelor ofArts, and was awarded a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Fordham University. A long time resident of Short Hills and Livingston, New Jersey, she was an active participant in the Millburn Public School parent teacher associations, the Millburn Public Library, and various writing groups and book clubs. Dr. Miller taught English at Seton Hall University and was dedicated to the success of her students. She was an avid gardener and enthusiastic audience of theater and classical music.

Norma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Edwin M. Miller and her sister Anita Starr. She is survived by her three children, Dr. R. Craig Miller, Dr. Leslie Miller, and Dr. Andrew Miller, and her grandchildren, Janine Miller, Dana Miller, Kaitlyn Miller, Piper Miller, William Miller, Jillean Miller, True Miller, and Evan Miller.
