As Livingston Philanthropies’ 13th Season Begins, Charity Seeks Additional Garage/Storage Space

Article Image Alt Text

Livingston Philanthropies, Inc. (LPI) founder and CEO Jeff Friedman has announced that the charitable organization has begun its 13th season of giving. “We started in 2011 as a little coat drive,” said Friedman. “Now, through the generosity of Livingston residents and LPI volunteers, we have grown into so much more to serve the homeless and families living below the poverty line.”
However, Friedman said, LPI’s growth has created a storage problem. “As a happy operational by-product, I have not had use of my single-car garage for 12 years,” he noted. “It’s my ‘LPI World Headquarters.’ Starting with the current philanthropic season, I am reaching out for single garage space. Can a reader help? Please contact me at 973-533-9336 or njhomeless@aol.com if you can assist.”

School Supplies Continue Rolling to Newark Partners

Article Image Alt Text

By Jeff Friedman
Editor’s Note: This week, Jeff Friedman, founder and CEO of Livingston Philanthropies, Inc. (LPI), explains, in his own words, how the organization continues its school supply drive initiatives.
    •    •    •
Livingston Philanthropies, Inc. (LPI) volunteers were happy to continue providing for the homeless and families living below the poverty line through deliveries to founding distribution partner, Newark Emergency Services For Families (NESF).
Those who read my missive in last week’s Tribune know that we started with 75 cases of fresh produce and fruit for NESF’s monthly Community Grocery Giveaway at their Newark facility. Then, a few days later, LPI volunteers were back with well over 100 colorful backpacks stuffed with school supplies and some 1,000 donated name-brand soap bars.

“We should all be proud that Livingston remains such a desirable community, and we are all dedicated to working towards a common goal to make Livingston even better,” said superintendent of schools Matthew Block.
