Creative Altruism

When people think of Martin Luther King Jr., they usually think of his historical "I Have a Dream" speech. The talk, which he gave before some 250,000 people on August 28, 1963 below the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., was a passionate expression of his beliefs that touched the hearts of most Americans and became a signature moment of the Civil Rights movement. Dr. King had much more to say, however, such as, "Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness." He was a man of action.
