Al Attermann, 92, of Livingston, died on Wednesday, May 3. Born in Colon, Germany, he came to the United States in 1938. He was graduated from Westside High School and the Newark College of Engineering. He was the proprietor of A & S Atterman Inc. in Newark. While serving in the Army during World War II, Mr. Attermann was wounded in the Philippines and received a Purple Heart. Mr. Attermann was a past president of Sinai Congregation in Hillside and of the Hillside Board of Education. Surviving is his wife, Lorraine Attermann. He is also survived by his children, Howard Attermann and his wife, Donna; Bruce Attermann and his wife, Elise; Jill Montag and her husband, Stephen; and Robert Attermann and his wife, Jill; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ruth Septee. He was predeceased by his brother, Simon Attermann. Funeral services were arranged by the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston.
