An intense thunderstorm accompanied by high winds and torrential rain swept through Livingston at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, bringing down electrical wires, trees and tree branches, and causing power outages throughout the township.
Fire Chief Chris Mullin reported a number of downed trees – one of which he personally cut up himself to free a blocked lane of traffic on West Mt. Pleasant Avenue.
