Sanford “Sandy” Goldberg, 86, died peacefully in his sleep on July 13, 2018. He is survived by his two daughters, Sue Ellen Greenberg and Terri Goldberg; his brother, Robert Goldberg; his son-in-law, Michael Greenberg; and his grandsons, Adam and Ross Greenberg. Sandy was a charitable man who served on the boards of Erste Bershader, B’nai B’rith, MetroWest JCC, and Temple Beth Shalom. Sandy began his lifelong love of football at Weequahic High School, where he was captain of the football team, and went on to play football for the U.S. Army and in college until an injury benched him. A graduate of New York University, he joined his father and brother in the insurance firm founded by his grandfather in 1914. He later assumed executive positions with State Mutual of America and John Hancock. Sandy was laid to rest alongside his late wife, Ann, in a private graveside service.
