Hold Service Today For Albert Koczur, 85

Albert Stanley Koczur, formerly of Livingston, died on Tuesday, August 20. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, August 29, at 11 a.m. at the Dangler Funeral Home ofWest Orange, 340 Main Street, with visitation at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Mr. Koczur was born and raised in Elizabeth, and served in the U.S. Navy. He earned a degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University and worked as an engineer with the New Jersey Turnpike. After he retired, Mr. Koczur was caregiver for his wife, Joan, who suffered from MS until she died in 2009. Shortly thereafter, he began suffering from Alzheimer’s and spent his last years at a care facility in Westlake, Ohio, near his son, Christian. The youngest of ten children, Mr. Koczur is survived by two brothers, Stanley (Erna) and Joseph; his sons, Matthew (Anne) and Christian (Heather); five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
