Updates concerning a new turf field and the performing arts facility that is under discussion, as well as a question about increasing the size of the school board, were topics of discussion at the February 10 meeting.
Member Buddy August reported that the Sports Council is looking at four possible locations for a new turf field: Tevlin Field on Okner Parkway; upper and lower fields at Heritage; and “the pit” at LHS, below the football field. Each site has “its pluses and minuses,” he said. The principle negatives of several fields are drainage and size.
August also said that the potential performing arts center was the main topic at a recent Vision 20/20 meeting.
