The undefeated Livingston High School girls’ track and field team continues to win tight meets, the latest against Nutley on Monday, May 17. LHS also held its Senior Night event to honor the senior members of the team.
At the meet, the Lady Lancers were pushed in all areas, and some of the athletes were put in different events than their specialties, for training purposes. Down in the pit, Sinit Mehari took a first in the discus. Nutley swept the shot put. Sophia Scharf and Summer Yung took first and second, respectively, in the javelin.
The trio of Arthi Mampilly, Irene Chi, and Kathleen Chen swept the 400 meter intermediate hurdles for LHS. Monica Sharma grabbed first place and Ellie Nadelmann took third in the 100 meter dash. The 1,600 meter was won by K. Leigh, with Bridget Gulfo taking third.
