Chrissy's Column

By Christine Sablynski

My husband Ray and I see our friend Denise nearly every weekend. We've been friends for more than a decade. For the past year or two, she has always insisted on making the 45 minute drive from where she lives to come to us. Finally, last weekend, I asked her if she wanted a break from driving; we would be happy to come up to her place. "Oh, no!" she said, aghast. "Then I'd have to clean the apartment!"

Only Supported by 1/4+ of Town?

The Livingston First Aid Squad sent out its 2014-15 donation request letter this week. Fund drive chairman Scott Maynard noted that only about 26% of the township supported the Squad last year. That is an egregious figure! It is absolutely appalling to think that so very few of our residents support a service which could someday save their lives.

In an effort to remedy this problem 15 year old Livingston resident Ben Boxer recently donated his time to teach Livingston senior citizens how to use their iPads, iPhones and other "smart" devices.
