Spring and Konner Named to Board of Education

Tonight, at the Livingston Board of Education meeting, two candidates were chosen from a field of six volunteers, to fill the unexpired terms of Board members Dr. David Jason and Leslie Winograd, both of whom have moved out of town. Named to the positions were former Board members Ron Spring and Ronnie Konner.   Spring is a father of three children, a school administrator, and an attorney, while Konner is recently retired from teaching world languages in Livingston.   "We were fortunate to have six strong candidates," said Board president Barry Funt. "I had the pleasure of serving with Ron Spring, and he embodies everything we want on a board." Vice president Pam Chirls said that Ronnie Konner "exposed our children to language and culture, and to the world around them." She went on to say, "I am excited to work with her and tap into her long term experience as a board member, teacher, and joyous role as a grandmother. It is an honor to serve with Ronnie and learn from a wonderful teacher."   The new members were sworn in by Board Secretary Steven Robinson, and will serve through January 5, 2015.     ...
