Madeline Duda Parrat Dies on December 7

Madeline Duda Parratt passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Visitation will be on Friday, December 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Livingston on Saturday, December 13 at 10 a.m. Madeline was born, raised and married in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She and her husband and baby son, Lee, moved to Newark in 1942 where her daughter, Linda, was born. The Parrat family then moved to Livingston in 1956. Madeline worked for over 20 years as payroll supervisor for the Livingston Board of Education until her retirement in 1988. She was very active in all her churches, which included women's groups, Acolyte mother, coffee social hours and the Thrift Shop of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Livingston. She was always helping others and always knowing who needed help or care before they asked. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Kenneth. She was the loving mother of Lee Parratt of Connecticut and Linda Leck (Frank) of Livingston. Her six grandchildren are David (Jessica) and Michael Parratt, Kenneth Leck (Cherie), Donald Leck (Christine), Roger Leck (Kathy) and Mindy Leck Glaz (Mark) and nine great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her four sisters, one brother and two nieces. She is the loving aunt of Peter Potosky (Sally); Robert Duda (Peggy); Carol Kern (Tim); David Cooper (Roberta) and Gary Cooper. Memorial contributions to the Livingston First Aid Squad or St. Peter's Episcopal Church would be appreciated. ...
