Burial Is Private For Mildred Lipton

Former Livingston resident Mildred Metsky Lipton, born in 1915, died February 13 in Dedham, Massachusetts, two months shy of her 100th birthday. Burial will be private, with interment at Beth Kehillah Cemetery in Egg Harbor. Arrangements are being handled by Roth-Goldsteins' Memorial Chapel, rothgoldsteins.com. Ms. Lipton was born in Newark to the late Mary Dinsfriend and Morris Metsky. Raised in Newark, she lived in Livingston and Atlantic City before moving to Massachusetts. She was politically active as a Newark City Council member. She was a life member of Hadassah, B'nai B'rith, and the American Jewish Congress. Ms. Lipton was the mother of Marilyn Lipton Okonow and Dale Okonow of Needham, Massachusetts; Roger and Mary Lipton of New York City; and David Lipton of Beachwood. She is also survived by three grandchildren. The family has announced that donations in her memory may be sent to the Okonow/Lipton Family Lymphoma Research Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, MA 02215; or to Jewish Family and Children's Services, Nutrition Services, 1430 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02451. ...
