Leonard P. Sherman Succumbs at Age 87

Leonard P. Sherman died on June 1, at the age of 87. A longtime resident of Livingston, and then Florham Park, Mr. Sherman was born Sept. 10, 1927, in New York City. As a young teenager, he moved to the New Jersey shore area, where his family went into the egg farming business. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as an Occupation soldier in post-World War II Germany. His training in the Signal Corps as a photographer sparked a lifelong hobby, producing numerous award-winning photographs. Mr. Sherman worked in the insurance industry for more than 60 years. Until recently, he was still driving to work every day. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Janice Roth Sherman; his children, Robert Sherman (Carolyn) and Debra Sherman Parker (Geoffrey), and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Blum. In lieu of fl owers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Lung Association. ...
