Township Readies for Governor's Visit

The Township has issued a traffic advisory for tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30, 2015, for the area around Livingston High School. According to reports, Christie is expected to speak sometime during the mid to late morning. Please read this entire post for information about parking, ticketing, and closed roads. Governor Chris Christie will be at the high school and is expected to announce his candidacy for the office of President of the United States. Traffic throughout the area is expected to be extremely heavy, and drivers are advised to avoid the entire area. Additionally, the Township has been advised that this is a ticketed-only event. Ticket holders will be directed to parking. Those wishing to attend who do not have a ticket, will be allowed on the Oval, however, they will be kept behind a temporary fence. There is no parking for non-ticketed attendees. News reports have mentioned busloads of protestors, who will park at Livingston Mall and be shuttled to the site. News media will be allowed to set up on Madonna Drive, which will be closed to all other traffic. The Library will be open, and drivers will be able to drive up the east side of Memorial Oval and out through Wahler Road. However, the west side of the Oval will be closed to all traffic.
