Barry Joel Gelfand, 49, of New York City died on December 3. Arrangements were handled by Menorah Chapels at Millburn in Union Mr. Gelfand was born and raised in Livingston. After graduating from the University of Maryland, he worked as a buyer for Macy's and later, for 20 years at Ross Stores. In addition to living in New York City, he also had a home in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Mr. Gelfand is survived by his mother, Joan, and his sister-in-law, Lillie. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel, and his father, Leonard. The family has suggested that donations in his memory be made to the American Heart Association or to Experience Camps for grieving children at www.experience.camp.
