Josephine Jacobs, 96, died at her residence in Livingston on Monday, December 28. Her family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 East Mt. Pleasant Avenue, on Saturday, January 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Philomena’s Church, 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, at 11 a.m. A committal service will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Born in Hoboken and raised in Lyndhurst, Mrs. Jacobs moved to Livingston in 1958. A parishioner of St. Philomena’s Church, she belonged to its Rosary Altar Society and was also a member of the Livingston Oak Leaf Club. She is predeceased by her husband David; her daughter, Joan Carol Jacobs; and her siblings, Thomas, Louis and Frank DeLitta and Ann Cottongim. She is survived by her children, Janet Graham and her husband, John; Craig Jacobs and his wife, Louise; and Glenn and his wife, Diane; and eight grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of one's choice.
