As highlighted by the Township Council on Monday evening, September is National Preparedness Month and we encourage residents to be prepared for potential emergencies. The recent weather activity (a.k.a. Tropical Storm Hermine) serves as a reminder of the importance of preparedness. While the more severe portion of that storm missed our area, it is that time of year when Mother Nature sometimes decides to take summer out with a bang by way of hurricanes, or in recent history, freak snowstorms. Being prepared does not have to be complicated. Simple steps such as staying informed, assembling an emergency kit and making a family evacuation plan can help everyone be better prepared for hurricanes, or other disasters.
