The thought that a “family dinner” is even remotely possible on a regular basis can make parents feel inadequate – and guilty. For many, the reality of daily life is this: Someone makes or picks up dinner and everyone comes and goes, grabbing some grub in between school, jobs, sports, dance, gymnastics, and/or a host of other activities. This Monday, September 26, however, the Livingston Municipal Alliance Committee (LMAC) is asking families to pause and share a meal together in honor of Family Day, a national initiative to promote parental engagement as a weapon against substance abuse in children and teens.
