Robert J. (“Red”) Foley, a former Livingston police officer, died on Saturday, January 28. Visitation will take place this Friday, February 3, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. Friends and family are asked to go directly to St. Philomena’s Church on Saturday, February 4, for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Entombment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Foley owned and operated his own trucking business for more than 40 years. He was an avid roller skating racer, classic car buff and, in his younger years, a cross country runner. Sgt. Foley is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith (nee Small), whom he met “over a vanilla milkshake and burger” at Seymour’s Luncheonette in Livingston; his children, Matthew (Noreen) of Livingston; Denise Ann of Vineland; Timothy (Laura) of Livingston; and Robin (Daniel Foster) of Livingston; and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the Livingston PBA #263; the Livingston Fire Department; the Livingston First Aid Squad; or the Delaware Hospice.   ...
