David Longman died at home in Livingston on January 31. He was born in Israel and spent most of his life in Norfolk, Virginia, before moving to Florida and later to New Jersey.
A 1941 graduate of Virginia Tech, with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering, Mr. Longman worked in the chemical industry and later in business in the Norfolk area.
He is survived by his wife of close to 72 years, Miriam. He is also survived by his three children, Howard and his wife Ellen of Livingston; Susan Saunders and her husband Marshall of Livingston; and Thomas and his wife Mona of Scarsdale, New York; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
