Offer Mass Feb. 18 For Joseph W. Ryan

Joseph W. Ryan of Mountain Lakes, formerly of Livingston, died January 27 at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. He was 68 years old. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Dangler, Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton. Mr. Ryan was born in Newark and raised in Livingston. He settled in Mountain Lakes 40 years ago. An alumnus of Livingston High School and Indiana State University, he was a self-employed executive search consultant for many years. Mr. Ryan was a past chief with the Mountain Lakes Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the department’s Relief Association. He also was a coach for Gray Hawks Football. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Richelle (nee Walmsley); his mother, Regina Ryan; his children, Richard J. Ryan, and Beth Ryan-Marquez and her husband, Clay; his sister, Mary Kay Ciriaco; and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Mr. Ryan’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
