A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Saturday, January 7, for John F. McCarthy at Our Lady of the Scapular Catholic Church in Wyandotte, Michigan. Mr. McCarthy died on December 24, at the age of 68. A former Livingston resident, Mr. McCarthy moved to Michigan in 1977. He was employed by General Motors before retiring a number a years ago. Mr. McCarthy was a 1966 graduate of Livingston High School. In 1970, he was graduated from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council at Mount St. Mary’s and a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Knights of Columbus Council in Livingston. Predeceased by his wife, Sharon (nee Kowalski), Mr. McCarthy is survived by two sons, Christopher and John (Marisa) of Michigan; two sisters, Elizabeth of Livingston and Elinor (George) Ribnicky of Marlborough, Connecticut; and a brother, Richard, also of Livingston.
