Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, March 9, for Joseph Paul Chnapko, Sr., of Livingston at noon at the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston. He was 95 years old. An Army veteran, Mr. Chnapko served in the 101st Airborne Division during the invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Born in Newark, he was the founder and owner of Globe Motor Car Company in Fairfield, New Jersey for 50 years. Mr. Chnapko was predeceased by his wife, Yaffa Chnapko. Surviving are his children Linda Cummings and her husband, Matt; Kathleen Gentile and her husband, Arnold; Michelle Cox and her husband, Adam, Joseph Paul Chnapko, Jr. and his wife, Melissa, and David Goodfriend and his wife, Harley; and 12 grandchildren.
