Livingston High School Baseball Players Join With Police Officers in Community Outreach

Players on the Livingston High School baseball team and the Livingston Police Department recently joined forces to kick off a new community outreach called “The Blue/Green Shield Program.” The program name represents the police blue shield and the Livingston Lancer green shield. On Thursday, April 27, each player was assigned his own individual Livingston Police officer, who took time out of his/her schedule to meet with the player. The pairs met and spent time getting to know one another. This was followed by a ceremony in which stickers of both the Livingston Police Department logo and the police officer’s badge number were affixed to players’ batting helmets.
