Clarine Choyke Rabinow, 96, passed away peacefully, following a brief and difficult journey on May 10, 2017 at the Teresian House, Albany, NY. She is survived by her loving husband, “Stan” (Stanley) of 71 years; son Mark and his wife Nan; greatly beloved granddaughters Sarah, Laura, and her partner David Bissember; and predeceased by her son, John. She was surrounded by family during the last months of her life. “Claire” received her B.A. from Hunter College, and an M.A. in remedial reading, and a Learning Disabilities Teacher/Consultant certificate. She worked in the South Orange-Maplewood School District for more than 30 years before retiring. Claire and Stan resided for more than 62 years in Livingston, prior to moving to the Avila in Albany, New York to be closer to family. She was a gifted artist and active member of the Livingston community, holding positions on the Livingston Arts Association and Livingston League of Women voters as well as the Livingston Democratic Party. A funeral service will be held in celebration of her life at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge, NJ on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. ...
