Funeral Mass Offered For Mary Rose Wells

Mary Rose Wells (nee Kafaf), 92, died Friday, May 26, in Livingston. Funeral arrangements were by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. Born in Newark, and a graduate of West Side High School, Mrs. Wells resided in Livingston for 56 years. She was an active member of St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston, where she was part of the Altar Rosary Society and the church choir. She travelled to many countries with the choir, including Ireland, Austria, and Italy, where she met the Pope. She worked as a case file worker for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service for 52 years, before her retirement in 1997. Mrs. Wells was predeceased by her husband, Keathon “David” Wells, as well as her daughter-in-law, Christine Mount-Wells. She is survived by her sons, Peter (Annette), Paul (Cindy), Patrick (Ginger), and Phillip; her siblings Peter, Florence, Dorothy, and Richard; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. ...
