Jane Y. Hecht of Whippany, formerly of Livingston, passed away on July 26, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with lymphoma. She was 67 years old. Jane was born in New York, New York in 1950 and lived in Ohio and Massachusetts before attending Dobbs Ferry High School in Dobbs Ferry, New York. She was graduated from New York University and subsequently moved to New Jersey. She was actively involved in the Livingston community, serving most recently as Executive Director of the Livingston Municipal Alliance Committee (LMAC). She also served as a member of Temple Beth Shalom’s Board of Trustees and in the Livingston Public Schools, where she was an officer of the PTA and PT Council. She was most recently employed with Jewish Vocational Services of MetroWest. Jane is survived by her two sons, Daniel (Jennifer) and Michael; two grandchildren, Allison and Jonah; her sister, Beth Nesic (Dusan); her brother, Dr. Richard Gersh (Jane); two nephews, Nicholas and Maxim Gersh; and her niece, Natasha Nesic.
