Judith Orleans Wahler

Judith Orleans Wahler passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 3, a month shy of her 96th birthday. Born in Newark, Judy moved to Livingston in 1951 to raise her family. She and her husband, Karel, were founding members of Temple Emanu-El of West Essex in Livingston. She worked many and varied jobs, but was best known as the FUNDAY Puppeteer. After retiring, she volunteered teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) at the Livingston Public Library. Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Karel. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Richard) Solomon of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Jill (Thomas) Cunningham of Ticonderoga, New York; and her three sons, William Wahler of Chicago Illinois; Charles (Sally) Wahler of Flagstaff, Arizona; and James (Lisa) Wahler of Livingston. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Debra, Sara, Erin, Jacob, Josh, Matt, Emily, Zachary, Megan, and Tommy; six great-grandchildren, Doran, Meira, Benjamin, Ava, Lee, and Ari; and her brother, Julian Orleans.
